Axiom AI setup tutorial
Follow these steps to connect the catalog, configure supported scenes, and install Axiom AI's theme app extension without editing theme code.

Install Axiom AI from its Shopify App Store listing, then open it from Apps in Shopify Admin. Shopify starts authentication and returns you to the embedded app.
Use a staff account with permission to manage apps, approve app charges, and customize the Online Store theme for the steps that follow.
Choose and approve a plan
Open Plans, review the price, billing interval, trial terms, and current subscription status, then select the appropriate option. Shopify displays a subscription confirmation screen before any charge is approved.
After approval, return to Axiom AI. The app reads the active subscription from Shopify Billing. Plan changes and cancellation are also available from Plans.
Sync the product catalog
From Dashboard, select Sync catalog. Axiom AI reads products through the approved read_products scope and updates its recommendation catalog.
Wait for the success message and confirm that the Dashboard catalog count is greater than zero before previewing storefront recommendations.
Configure recommendation scenes
Open Scenes. For each supported placement, choose whether the scene is enabled, set its section title, algorithm, recommendation source, cold-start fallback, product layout, and available display options, then save the scene.
The supported scenes are homepage recommendations, product-page recommendations, cart recommendations, and the optional Smart popup. There is no checkout scene in this version.
Add the product-page block
Return to Dashboard and select Add product block in the Product recommendations setup card. The link opens the current theme's default product template in Shopify's Theme Editor and requests the Axiom AI product block in the main product section.
Choose the final position, adjust the block heading, product count, columns, prices, badges, and recommendation reason as needed. Save the theme and preview a product page.
Add homepage and cart sections
From Dashboard, use Add homepage block and Add cart block. Each link opens the matching template and requests the corresponding Axiom AI app section.
Reorder and configure each section, save the theme, and preview both the homepage and cart page. Available insertion locations depend on the active theme's app-block support.
Optionally activate Smart popup
Select Activate smart popup from Dashboard to open Theme settings > App embeds with the Axiom AI embed ready for preview. Configure its trigger, delay, cooldown, product count, copy, and colors, then save.
To stop the popup later, disable the Axiom AI Smart popup in Theme settings > App embeds and save the theme.
Verify the storefront and dashboard
Visit each enabled storefront placement in a preview or the published theme. Confirm that products, links, images, prices, and mobile layout match the theme settings.
After real storefront activity is recorded, Dashboard can report available impressions, clicks, click-through rate, fallback use, top clicked products, and attribution signals. A new installation can correctly show zero events until shoppers interact with an enabled placement.
