Reference information for the Axiom AI embedded app, product catalog, recommendation scenes, theme extension, reporting, and subscriptions.
Last updated: August 26, 2026Product overview
Axiom AI is an embedded Shopify app with a theme app extension. The embedded app manages Shopify Billing state, product-catalog sync, recommendation scene settings, Theme Editor setup links, and storefront performance reporting. The extension renders configured recommendations in supported Online Store theme placements.
Axiom AI does not edit product records, modify theme source files, or add a checkout extension. Merchants control whether each theme block or app embed is present and published.
Embedded app navigation
- Dashboard: setup status, catalog sync, Theme Editor setup links, production-readiness signals, and available storefront metrics.
- Scenes: enable or pause supported recommendation scenes and configure recommendation and display settings.
- Plans: view active Shopify Billing state, choose a billing option, change plans, or cancel an active subscription.
Catalog access and synchronization
The app requests Shopify's read_products scope. A catalog sync reads eligible product and variant information needed to build recommendation results. It does not create, update, or delete Shopify products.
Run Sync catalog after installation and when testing recently changed product data. The Dashboard shows the synchronized catalog count and last-sync state. Product availability and Online Store publication still determine whether a recommendation can be shown to shoppers.
Recommendation scenes
A scene connects a storefront placement with a section title, recommendation algorithm, product source, cold-start fallback, layout, and display settings. Supported sources include store best sellers, newest products, and recently updated products. Saved settings apply to recommendation requests for that shop and scene.
The Scenes screen also exposes A/B variant configuration and reports a winning variant only after the app has enough matching performance data. A new or low-traffic scene may correctly show no winner.
Theme extension placements
| Placement | Extension type | Theme location | Setup link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product recommendations | Theme app block | Product template | Dashboard > Add product block |
| Homepage recommendations | Theme app section | Homepage template | Dashboard > Add homepage block |
| Cart recommendations | Theme app section | Cart template | Dashboard > Add cart block |
| Smart popup | Optional app embed | Storefront theme | Dashboard > Activate smart popup |
Each Dashboard setup link opens Shopify's Theme Editor for the matching template or app-embed area. The merchant remains responsible for choosing the final position, reviewing the preview, saving the theme, and publishing theme changes under the store's normal workflow.
Storefront events and reporting
When an enabled Axiom AI placement is used, the app can process recommendation impressions, clicks, product and page context, pseudonymous session identifiers, and attribution signals. Dashboard reporting includes available impressions, clicks, click-through rate, fallback use, recently recorded activity, top clicked products, and attributed revenue when a later paid order can be matched.
These reports reflect recorded store activity; they are not sample sales or fabricated shopper events. See the privacy policy for collection, use, retention, and deletion details.
Billing and plan management
All app charges use Shopify Billing. Plans shows the current billing option, subscription status, price, interval, and applicable trial before Shopify presents its approval screen. Selecting a different option starts a new Shopify approval flow. Cancelling an active plan stops future billing cycles and does not issue an automatic prorated credit.
Always review the amount and interval on Shopify's confirmation screen. Merchants can return to Plans to choose an available option again without reinstalling Axiom AI.
Removal and support
Remove recommendation blocks or disable the Smart popup from the Theme Editor and save the theme. To stop using the service, cancel the active app subscription from Plans if needed, then uninstall Axiom AI from Shopify Admin.
For support, email [email protected]with the shop domain, affected placement, theme name, and reproduction steps. Do not send customer passwords, API credentials, or payment details.
